New Delhi: Capital Delhi has been living in a deadly cocktail of toxic smog containing nitrogen oxides, sulphur oxides, ozone and smoke. It is deadly mix, one that has medical practitioners worried enough to call it a public health emergency. From coughing and throat or chest irritation to worsening of asthma symptoms, lung damage and cardiovascular diseases, smog is known for various health implications that can affect even a healthy person.

According to the US embassy measure, the levels of poisonous airborne particles known as PM 2.5 has been hovering in the 450 – 500 range in Delhi, while the recommended limit of air quality by World Health Organisation is 0 – 50.
