New Delhi: From June 23, Mumbai civic body’s plastic ban will come into effect, if you will be found carrying a plastic bag or taking one from a vendor, you could be fined up to Rs 5,000 for the first violation, and Rs 10,000 for repeat offences. Now, taking a step ahead, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to deploy 200 inspectors to catch hold of defaulters and fine them for using plastic. Speaking to NDTV, about this step, Nidhi Chaudhari, Head Anti-Encroachment Department of BMC said,
We have given public and shopkeepers enough time to get prepared for the plastic ban. From June 23, these inspectors, along with BMC employees will start penalising citizens and vendors if they will be found using the banned plastic items.

She further said to make the plastic ban in the city effective the municipal corporation has made three teams — the market department, which is an umbrella body of 200-odd BMC markets, the shops and establishments-department, which keeps an eye on shops across the city, and the licensing department, which will ensure that street hawkers and vendors comply with the ban.
We have created enough awareness for the plastic ban in the city. We are hoping from June 23, at least the plastic carry bags will completely go away. We have also made greener alternatives available to everyone like cloth and jute bags, said Ms Chaudhari.
Soon, BMC, will also publish the lists of the inspectors with their names on their official site — one for markets and malls, and the second for supervising street hawkers.

On March 23, the Maharashtra government had issued a notification banning the use of plastic bags and other one-time use single-use plastic items which is applicable on all every person, Government and non-government organisation, educational institution, sports complex, hotels, to name a few. The government had given everyone three months to get rid of their plastics and switch to greener alternatives. June 23 has been set as a deadline for Maharashtra government’s plastic ban to become effective.

RESPECTED SIR/ MADAM,
I Resident of this country INDIA want you to give me your precious time and read my message which is very important for our country .
Banning plastic will make thousands of deployment and it makes our economy weaker , I don’t know why government is telling that plastics are harmful and hazardous and unfriendly . I have been working in this industry since last 1 year as a Accountant ,I didn’t find anything natures devil in this substance , The main culprits are B.M.C & consumers, B.M.C are not taking their work seriously and Their are many people who through plastic waste in Nallas, Rivers ETC . which effects marine life and get nalla water chokup . I don’t say that each and everyone in B.M.C and every human being is of same nature ,but in this case why plastic industry have to bear their mistakes/faults. plastic is very great invention by (LEO HENDRICK BAEKELAND ) which was made very helpful to each & every people in the world .
plastic is not unfriendly but it is friendly and helpfull ,It is used for many purpose like raincoats , umbrellas ,also for planting small trees (please tell me if plastic is unfriendly than why plants are planted in these thing.????) please answer thing Question .
At last I want to say that we the people voted this Government for development of our country. By doing this Government is doing unfair with Other innocent Ones.

its wrong Rishikesh, people are throwing plastic material, bags, openly in nallas and road side they dont have any their resposibilities see dump garbage cleaner/worker also human like us why poeple not thiking about them is right or wrong think your self dont blame to government first you see your inner space and then react
