Plastic Is Choking Our Oceans, Animals And Planet, Says Actor Sonam Kapoor With An Appeal To Beat Plastic Pollution

New Delhi: Actor Sonam Kapoor accepts #BeatPlasticPollution challenge which was initiated by UN Environment ahead of World Environment Day celebrations. With a pledge to give up the use of plastic bags, the actor took to social media on the occasion of World Oceans Day which is celebrated every year on June 8. Posing with a cloth bag, Sonam Kapoor said,

We’re all capable of massive change! Plastic is choking our oceans, animals and planet. I pledge to never use plastic bags again! #BeatPlasticPollution with @UNEnvironment.

The actor further nominated Akshay Kumar, Swara Bhasker, Anil Kapoor and Anand Ahuja to take the same challenge and give up on anyone single-use plastic item from their life.

Sonam Kapoor was nominated for the #BeatPlasticPollution challenge by actor Juhi Chawla who has given up the use of plastic toothbrushes and actor Aditi Rao Hydari who has pledged to ditch the use of single-use disposable plastic bottles.

This is not the first time, the actor has raised her voice for a better environment, the PadMan actress has always been quite vocal about women’s sanitation and hygiene.
