Say No To Plastic: “We Are All A Part Of Nature And Not Apart From Nature”, Says Actor Dia Mirza At IIFA, Bangkok
Extending the boundaries of #BeatPlasticPollution campaign, Dia Mirza, urged people at IIFA being held in Bangkok to take inspiration from the world and reduce plastic usage
New Delhi: Actor and United Nations Environment Goodwill Ambassador for India, Dia Mirza, who has been quite vocal about plastic pollution in India has taken the #BeatPlasticPollution message to IIFA being held in Bangkok. Dia urged citizens of Bangkok and Thailand to take inspiration from the world and reduce the usage of plastic. Addressing people at IIFA in Bangkok, Thailand, she said,
I would have never imagined that a day would come when UN Environment would be up there, amongst all the logos in the branding that you see, alongside IIFA. I think that this is such a huge indication that as people we are recognising the urgency and the importance to accept and acknowledge that our identity, our progress, our health, and our achievements are not separate from the environment and from nature. We are all ‘a part’ of nature and not ‘apart’ from nature.
Further, she thanked her colleagues from the film fraternity who have lended their support to ‘beat plastic pollution’ campaign. Actors like Bhumi Pednekar, Sonam Kapoor Arjun Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Alia Bhatt, Aditi Rao Hydari, and many others have come forward to spread the message. Thanking all of them, Dia said,
Thank you to all my colleagues in the industry. Each one of you have used your voice and I know you will continue to use your voice to bring in a difference and I love you so much more for doing this.

Remember, if you can’t reuse it, refuse it. When we speak of single use plastics, we mean, say no to plastic bags, unnecessary packaging of vegetables and fruits, we see that a lot here in Bangkok. I hope Bangkok and Thailand will be inspired by the world’s commitment to #BeatPlasticPollution and the next time I come back here, we will see a lot less plastic packaging on food and beverage.
The warrior signed off by saying,
The other item of absolute useless single-use plastic is plastic straws. So, before you order a drink, make sure to tell the server to not to give you a plastic straw.

Please say no to plastic that is being used in making and showing films, cars, plane, machines, Ac etc. On has to say no then say no to all, the selective no can harm day to day life. Plastic is creating problem as we are not managing it properly and just saying no indicates sign of incompetence.
