New Delhi: ‘#BeatPasticPollution by switching to steel or glass bottles today! Plastic bottles take 450 years or more to decompose, harming us and our environment. I am now one step closer towards purging plastic from my life. Hope you guys will make the switch too! #LetsCoexist,’ says actor Alia Bhatt as she accepts #BeatPlasticPollution challenge which has been initiated by UN Environment ahead of World Environment Day celebrations. The actor was challenged by Dia Mirza who recently posted a short video in which she is urging women to give up the use of plastic sanitary napkins and instead opt for a green alternative. In the video, Dia Mirza nominated Alia Bhatt and her husband Sahil Sangha. Accepting the challenge, Alia Bhatt posted a picture on her social media holding a reusable bottle.
