Adopt Water Saving Aerators And Bid Adieu To Water Wastage
Bengaluru based Eco365 has an innovative solution to India’s water woes – water saving aerator, which saves 80 per cent of the water
New Delhi: Every day 18-year-old Shobha, a resident of Ajmer’s Baalpur, makes multiple trips of three kilometer each, all for water. She manages to fetch and bring back around 5 litres of water in each trip, which is obviously not sufficient for a family of four. While Shobha struggles for every drop of water, 24-year-old Monica from Ghaziabad is too careless to care about the water wastage due to high water flow from taps in her bathroom. Concerned with the demand and supply gap in different parts of the country, Bengaluru based Eco365, has come up with an innovative solution – water saving aerator.
Eco365 water saving aerator or adapter, is a water saving device that simply fits onto a tap and reduces the flow rate of water by 70-80 per cent. For instance, if the flow rate is 10 litres per minute (LPM), aerator brings it down to 3 LPM without any compromise on washing experience. This way, 80 per cent of the water is saved.
The water saving aerator not only saves humongous amount of water that usually goes to drain due to high flow of water, but also saves your money on water bills. Not to brag, the best thing about these aerators is, it is easy to install. Anyone and everyone can install it, without any assistance from plumber. For convenience, the aerator kit comes with installation manual, says Mitesh Surana, co-founder at Eco365.
4 Step Guide To Installing Tap Aerators
Unscrew the old shell fitted on tap with aerator. Replace the old aerator in shell with the Eco365 aerator. Place Eco365 aerator and washer inside shell. You can use existing washer is you wish to. Tighten the shell back to the tap. Ensure no leaks at joint and you are good to go.
Water saving aerator that comes in three different sizes fits into all kinds of taps, even the traditional ones. From custom foam flow, custom shower flow, foam/bubble flow to shower flow and hygiene, the aerator comes in 40 variants. Elaborating on the same, Mitesh says,
While in custom shower or bubble flow you can adjust the water discharge as per your need, in regular shower flow, water dispenses in shower/spray type pattern. In case of hygiene aerators, you can turn the tap on/off by finger touch.
Made of silicon based plastic, water saving aerators last for three to four years and need cleaning once in six months. It can cost as low as Rs. 150. The price of the product goes up to Rs. 450, depending on the size and the type of the product you wish to buy. The innovative solution can be purchased either from the official website of Eco365 or ecommerce sites.
We ship across the globe and offer discounts on bulk orders so it is suggested to reach out to us directly in case of bulk orders, adds Mitesh.
Talking about the Eureka moment, Mitesh Surana, co-founder at Eco365 says,
I hail from the dessert state of Rajasthan and I have witnessed water scarcity. We wanted to do something on the face of water and there was not much of innovation going around so in the year 2010 we introduced waterless urinals. Slowly and gradually, we started getting requests for a solution to save water used while washing, bathing and other things. Customers gave us the need and we brought a solution in the 2011.
Till now, the team has reached out to 3,000 properties in India and have saved 500 crore litres of water. The organisation plans to conserve 1 trillion litres of water by 2020.

Over the years, the campaign has widened its scope to cover issues like air pollution, waste management, plastic ban, manual scavenging and menstrual hygiene. The campaign has also focused extensively on marine pollution, clean Ganga Project and rejuvenation of Yamuna, two of India’s major river bodies.
