Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Reviews Sanitation, Beautification Works Of Civic Bodies
All three municipal commissioners assured Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal that efforts are being made to ensure that all toilets complexes have proper lights
New Delhi: Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal reviewed progress of sanitation and beautifiation work of all three municipal corporations in the national capital. According to the LG’s office, the Lt Governor has directed civic bodies to ensure proper lighting arrangement in and around all toilet complexes and public parks in the city. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, along with other senior officials from the urban development department, Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) and all three municipal corporations.

All three municipal commissioners assured the LG that efforts are being made to ensure that all toilets complexes have proper lights. It was desired that weekly progress report will be sent to the UD department in this respect, the LG office said in a statement.
It also stated that Mr Baijal desired that MCDs should continue to take steps that focus on cleanliness and sanitation of the areas and also ensure that community is also involved in maintenance of assets.

“Progress about the encroachment removal on 29 identified stretches was also reviewed. The Lt Governor emphasised that the places which are made encroachment-free should not be allowed to be re-encroached,” it also stated.
