The state wide ban on plastic in Maharashtra will come in to effect from June 23. Here’s how people are reacting on social media
New Delhi: June 23 will see a state wide plastic ban in India’s second most populous state- Maharashtra. With less than 24 hours left for the implementation of the ban, civic officials seem all geared up to ensure effective implementation of the ban. From imposing hefty fines, to enlightening people about the things that are included and excluded from the ban, to suggesting alternatives to the banned plastic items, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has tried to ensure it all and till the very end. Just a day before the ban comes into effect, a three day exhibition at the National Sports Club Of India, Worli, got launched to showcase alternatives to plastic where 60 companies and 50 Self Help Groups are on board.

@Dev_Fadnavis #PlasticBan Please give a clear idea whether garbage liner plastic bags are allowed or not. There are confusing reports. Is there a helpdesk where a general citizen like myself can get queries solved?
