If Each One Of Us Will Just Keep One Square Foot Area Clean, Our Country Will Become Truly Swachh: Sachin Tendulkar
India’s, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has always supported the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, lending his support again for government’s cleanliness survey – Swachh Survekshan, Sachin Tendulkar has asked each one of us to come forward and just keep one square foot area clean always
New Delhi: “Do you keep your home dirty, no right? Then why do you keep your area dirty?,” asks Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar in this short video that has been released by the government recently. Appealing each and every citizen to help fulfill the dream of a Swachh India, Sachin Tendulkar further adds, “Country’s real power is in its citizen, so if we all come forward and just keep one square foot area clean always, then each and every corner of the country will shine. If we will not keep India clean, then who will?.”
The video message is part of the awareness campaign which is being run by the Centre for ongoing Swachh Survekshan 2018. Sachin Tendulkar is not the only celebrity who has extended his support for the campaign, joining him are other celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and Anil Kapoor.
The Master Blaster had made a similar appeal while supporting NDTV’s Banega Swachh India campaign during the 12-hour Cleanathon in October. He made an emphatic plea to all Indians and said that everyone should dedicate an hour a year to clean a place.
Sachin Tendulkar, 44, has been part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan since the inception of the movement in 2014. He was one of the Swachh Ambassadors appointed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014. He has also adopted two villages, Puttamraju Kandriga village in Andhra Pradesh that became free from open defecation in the year 2016 and Donja in Osmanabad (Maharashtra).
Apart from this, the legend has launched ‘Mission-24’, an initiative aimed at improving the quality of life in Mumbai largest slum – M-East ward.

The Swachh Survekshan, this year is for the first time assessing all 4,041 cities of India on their cleanliness quotient. The cities are being evaluated on a total of six parameters that includes collection and transportation of municipal solid waste, processing and disposal of municipal solid waste, sanitation related progress, IEC (Information, Education and Communication), capacity building and innovation and best practices.
