Toilets Should Be Used By Everyone, Every Day And Forever, Urges Actor Kajol For A Swasth And Swachh India

Bollywood’s favourite actor – Kajol once again lends her support to India’s biggest cleanliness movement – Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

New Delhi: Actor Kajol has always been a vocal advocate of India’s biggest cleanliness movement as claimed by the government – Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014. From educating people about toilet usage to why it is important for everyone to shun the use of plastic and opt for recycling, actor Kajol has been lending her support in some or the other way. Recently, Kajol is was seen urging citizens of India on sustaining the use of toilets that have been built over these years to make India free from the practice of open defecation.

In the video that has been released by the Centre, Kajol adds,

Izzat ghar ke istamal se kayi zindagiya badal sakti hai (The use of toilet can change the lives of many).

She further said,

Building a toilet at home brings safety and security. Therefore, toilets should be used by everyone, every day and forever for a Swachh and Swasth India.

Earlier this month, on October 2, which marked the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatama Gandhi and was also celebrated as Rashtriya Swachhata Diwas, the government declared the rural areas of India free from the age-old tradition of open defecation. PM Modi addressing the nation that day announced that more than 60 crore people in 60 months have been provided with toilets and the government has made more than 11 crore toilets. He said,

The whole world is amazed by this. I am satisfied that on the occasion of Gandhi at 150, we are witnessing the fulfillment of his dream of ‘Swachh Bharat’. I feel lucky that on this occasion when India has successfully stopped open defecation, I’m here at the ashram.

Earlier in 2018, Kajol has also lent her support for the plastic ban in the state of Maharashtra. The actor strongly believes that one of the first steps to save the environment is to ‘say no to plastics’. Back in 2018 while supporting the government’s decision, the actor said,

The government has done a fantastic job of implementing this ban. Now it is our time to do our bit to save the planet.
