New Delhi: ‘Jal hai tabhi to kal hai’, says Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of World Water Day as he highlights the importance of ‘Jal Shakti’. The Prime Minister took to social media and wrote “#WorldWaterDay is an occasion to highlight the importance of Jal Shakti and reaffirm our commitment towards water conservation. When water is conserved, our cities, villages and hardworking farmers benefit tremendously”. Along with this, the PM Modi shared a video which focused on how the world is facing a severe water crisis. He said, “200 years ago, there was no water crisis, but then too people were well aware about water conservation and understood the importance of water. Today, when the entire world is going though water crisis, it is our duty to save water.”

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu too urged people to save water. He urged citizens to follow the 3Rs – reduce, reuse and recycle.

Union Minister for Shipping and Water Resources Nitin Gadkari tweeted, “Water is the most critical element for the development of a region. On #World WaterDay, let us all pledge to conserve water. Apart from leaders, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur shared a moving picture of a mother giving bath to her child. She is seen taking water out from a pot using her hands. Every year, World Water Day is observed on March 22 to highlight the importance of fresh water. The theme for World Water Day 2018 is ‘Nature for Water’ – to look for nature based solutions to overcome the water challenges we are facing.

With Swach Bharat project, the only thing that got cleaned were the bank coffers and poor man’s pockets.
Ganga remains just as dirty.The taxes collected Swach Bharat name feeds the corporate and the politicians.
