With Messages For A Greener And Cleaner Environment, Actors And Sports Personalities Celebrate World Environment Day 2018
From Dia Mirza, Juhi Chawla to sports stars Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma and Saina Nehwal, everyone has come forward to celebrate World Environment Day 2018, for which the global host country is India
New Delhi: As India celebrates June 5 – World Environment Day, for which India has been chosen as the global host country by UN Environment with the theme of Beat Plastic Pollution, celebrities, and sports personalities come together to spearhead a green movement of change. With messages for a cleaner and greener environment, they all have taken social media by storm. Actor and UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador Dia Mirza wished everyone 45th World Environment Day with an urge to Beat Plastic Pollution, she adds,“Happy #WorldEnvironmentDay!!! #BeatPlasticPollution.”

Posing with Bamboo toothbrushes, Actor Juhi Chawla accepted the #BeatPlasticPollution challenge which has been initiated by UN Environment and pledges to replace plastic toothbrush with a greener alternative. The actor further nominated Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Sachin Tendulkar, Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Twinkle Khanna, Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, to name a few.
She adds,

All About The #BeatPlasticPollution Challenge
With a moto of reducing the use of single-use plastic, UN Environment started the #BeatPlasticPollution challenge a few days ago in which people need to make a green switch by opting for a greener alternative to anyone single-use plastic item. They also have to challenge their friends to do the same.
Actor Dia Mirza was the first one to take the #BeatPlasticPollution challenge; she replaced the regular plastic sanitary napkins with the biodegradable option.
