World Environment Day: Devendra Fadnavis, Dr Harsh Vardhan And Erik Solheim Flag Off Maharashtra’s E-vehicle Policy
To promote the use of electric vehicles among people, ahead of World Environment Day, Maharashtra government signs a MoU with leading automobiles conglomerate
New Delhi: The future of urban transport is here – electric vehicles! Ahead of 45th World Environment Day celebrations in India on June 5, Tata Motors and Mahindra and Mahindra signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the State Government of Maharashtra today for regular plying of electric vehicles in the state. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with Environment Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, UN Environment Head Erik Solheim, Executive Chairman Mahindra Group Anand Mahindra, Guenter Butschek, CEO & MD Tata Motors, Actor and UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador Dia Mirza and Environmentalist Afroz Shah also flagged off electric cars at the Gateway of India, Mumbai.

Along with providing electric cars, the partnership aims to help set up EV Charging Stations and accelerate the adoption of EVs in Maharashtra.
