New Delhi: Delhi police wins heart all over again in these tough times of the coronavirus pandemic. After paying the ‘siren tribute’ to the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara for their day-and-night service to feed more than 75,000 people daily amid the nationwide lockdown and coronavirus, Delhi Police pays the same kind of tribute to medical professionals of All India Institute of Medical Science in Delhi. On April 29, 51 ‘COVID Patrol’ motorcycles of South Delhi District Police, as a gesture of respect towards the unwavering commitment of the doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals in the battle against coronavirus, performed a ‘siren parikrama’ of AIIMS.

The official government account shared the video of Delhi Police performing a ‘parikrama’ and said,

Today evening, 51 ‘Covid Patrol’ motorcycles of South Delhi District Police expressed their gratitude & solidarity to our front line corona warriors AIIMS Doctors & paramedics. They are the real Heroes. And women cops in the lead.#IndiaFightsCorona #TogetherWeCan

Talking about the initiative, Atul Kumar Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) said,

A parikrama of the AIIMS hospital was conducted as a mark of gratitude. This is in continuation of the ongoing visits to various hospitals and medical professionals by the staff of south district to thank them in this campaign to safeguard citizens of our country.

Coronavirus In Delhi

As of April 30, according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Delhi has reported 3,439 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, of which, 1,000 people have been recovered from the lethal virus and 56 people have lost their lives.
