23rd Hornbill Festival 2022 Celebrations With Durex ?The Birds and Bees Talk’ Programme

From folk dances to melodious songs, Nagaland is back with its annual Hornbill Festival 2022. The festival commenced on December 1 and will continue till December 10. This year, Durex ?The Birds and Bees Talk' programme has joined as the official health partner for the festival.

The Hornbill Festival 2022 was inaugurated by the chief guest, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, on December 1, in the presence of other esteemed guests, including Jagdish Mukhi, Governor of Nagaland, festival hosts Neiphiu Rao, Chief Minister of Nagaland, and H. Khehovi Yeputhomi, Advisor to Tourism, Art, and Culture.

The festival exposes visitors to the culture and traditions of Nagaland's ethnic people. The first day saw Naga cultural troupes singing and yodelling in tribal unison with drums in their hands.

There were various cultural shows, including Hip fest, Music fest, Saras fair, craft exhibition, etc.

Durex, with its youth and adolescent-focused initiative, The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) programme is assisting the 23rd edition of the iconic Hornbill Festival as an official health partner.

On December 2, the chief guest of the festival, Ravi Bhatnagar, Director, External Affairs and Partnerships, SOA, Reckitt addressed the keynote speaker session. He said Nagaland had pioneered its approach in addressing discrimination and eradicating the stigma related to HIV/AIDS that marginalised people suffer.

Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Government of Nagaland said that The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) initiative was playing a significant role in raising conscious and mindful youth in the northeast regions.

The 10-day "festival of festivals' holds great significance as India plans to showcase the Hornbill Festival to the G-20.

The festival will host guests from across states and nations, representing the rich culture of various tribes of Nagaland, and with The Birds And Bees Talk as a health partner, the partnership will reach out to the people of Nagaland, ensuring that we make the youth and future of India healthier and happier.
