Asia’s First Consent Cafe is Now Open!

The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) launched Asia's first Consent Cafe at the recent edition of Hornbill Festival in Nagaland. The cafe aims at creating awareness about the importance of consent in relationships. The launch marks TBBT's continued association with Hornbill Festival as its official health partner as the event entered its 25th edition. TBBT is an initiative by Reckitt's Durex and Plan India

The Consent Cafe is now open to host discussions on consent, relationship, and growing up. Ensconced in the idyllic Kisama Heritage Village in Nagaland, the cafe is part of Durex's The Birds and Bees Talk program.

The cafe has a dome, rightly called Consent Dome. Donned with pulsating lights, it celebrates tribal bonds and human connection symbolizing harmony and mutual respect. Other states will get their own Consent Cafe as TBBT plans to expand this concept. The expansion plan also includes curated merchandise and magazines aligned with TBBT's Growing Up Life Skills Curriculum.

The cafe has an Insta Max Camera setup as well. People create unforgettable moments at the 360° photo booth.

The TBBT Consent Cafe aims to create an immersive space through light, music and art, leading people to explore the importance of consent in building healthy relationships.

Through activities like open mics, poetry, art contests and storytelling, the cafe creates awareness about consent and celebrates human connection.
