With the vision of combining physical play with critical hygiene messages for children, Banega Swasth India has established a Hygiene Play Park in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The park engages children in simple, fun, rooted culture games and reinforces critical preventive hygiene messages

The Hygiene Play Park is designed on five pillars of the Dettol Hygiene Curriculum: hygiene at home, hygiene at school, hygiene during illness, hygiene in the neighbourhood, and personal hygiene.

The park is accessible to children of all age groups and has been created with environment-friendly materials like rope, wood, and non-toxic paints.

The Hygiene Play Park has four junctions: STEM Junction, Hygiene Games, Hygiene Essentials which is a handwashing station, Free Play Games which has a trampoline and toddler junction gym.

Project manager, Amit Shukla, said that the park is designed for students in an educational manner. There are multiple games in the park which showcases five levels of hygiene - hygiene at home, hygiene in school, hygiene in neighbourhood, personal hygiene and hygiene during illness.

One of the students at the park shared her experience and expressed how easy it is to communicate the message of hygiene with the children through games.
