Devendra Fadnavis, Amitabh Bachchan Join The Clean-Up Drive For #MahaCleanathon

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Campaign Ambassador Amitabh Bachchan lend their support to the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swachh India initiative's Maha Cleanathon being held in Mumbai's JJ Hospital. They are joined by thousands of other volunteers who take up brooms to clean up the filthy areas in and near the premises of the hospital. With this clean-up drive, we hope to encourage people to take up cleanliness as their personal responsibility and commit to the cause.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Campaign Amabassador Amitabh Bachchan pick up brooms, lend their support to Banega Swachh India's #MahaCleanathon. "Maharashtra will have 50 Swachh cities by October 2, 2016," Fadnavis said at the clean-up drive being held in Mumbai.

"We are here to become examples. We hope this movement continues and we can keep our cities clean," Campaign Ambassador Amitabh Bachchan said before he started sweeping the premises near JJ Hospital in Mumbai for the Maha Cleanathon.

"The participation of people is most important for the success of these (clean-up drives) programmes," says Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai at the #MahaCleanathon.

The Maha Cleanathon has kicked off with volunteers of Sant Nirankari Foundation's cleaning up the area outside the OPD in Mumbai's JJ Hopsital. The clean-up drive is part of the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swachh India initiative, which is now in its third year.
