NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India Season 10 Finale: Highlights
Season 10 of NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India has officially wrapped up! The focus now shifts to the future, the youth, who hold the key to change. On Independence Day, Banega Swasth India with Campaign Ambassador Ayushmann Khurrana celebrates the power of India's youth.Last year, on World Environment Day, Dettol launched India's first Climate Resilient School in Uttarakhand with a mission to tackle the growing crisis of climate change. Naveen Singh and Anushka from the school joined the Banega Swasth India season 10 finale. They shared their learnings and thoughts on waste management, hand hygiene practices, and saving biodiversity.
"From 2, 500 kids in season 1 to over 30 million kids across India, the journey has been remarkable! This is one of the biggest programs, not just on health, but on one health, an integration of human, animal, and plant health," Ravi Bhatnagar, Director, External Affairs and Partnerships, SOA, Reckitt, shared the journey of Banega Swasth India over the past decade.
Vihaan Agarwal was barely 14 when he started off as a child rights activist. Today, at 20, he runs a non-profit - OneStepGreener. It all started when Vihaan read about the collapse of the Ghazipur landfill. Further knowledge about how this trash was being burned at the landfill releasing pollutants, left him restless. This prompted Vihaan to act, starting with implementing waste segregation practices himself.
Meet Menstrumate, an innovative company founded by Prisha Dubey, Anupriya Nayak, and Vanalika Konwar. The company is pioneering the production of sanitary napkins made from sustainable sugarcane bagasse. It is also empowering young minds with interactive children's books on period education promoting a positive understanding of menstruation from a young age.
Talking about the impact of climate change on children, Dr Soumya Swaminathan, Former Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization said, "Children will face the impact of anthropogenic effects that we have inflicted on this environment and which has resulted in the acceleration of global warming."
