Reckitt Introduces Self-Care Kit During The Launch Of Banega Swasth India Season 10

With the aim of improving self-care practices among mothers and children under five years of age, Reckitt and PLAN India have come up with a 'Self-Care' programme, under which they have launched a Self-Care Kit

Reckitt's Self-Care programme is based on World Health Organization's self-care guidelines, WHO 7-point plan on comprehensive Diarrhoea control and The Integrated Global Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Pneumonia and Diarrhoea (GAPPD) by WHO and UNICEF.

The Self Care Kit is equipped with all the necessities required for the overall well-being of mothers and children.

It includes Dettol sanitiser, liquid soap and bar soap, to promote hygiene practices and hence reduce the risk of spreading infections.

The kit contains gloves to protect hands from blood and body fluids, including respiratory secretions among women and children.

The kit also has supplements like iron, vitamin C and folic acid tablets for antenatal care and to reduce the risk of low birth weight and Anaemia among women.

For children, the kit has strips of zinc supplements and Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) sachet, to make sure they are well hydrated and rejuvenated.

The Self-Care kit also has a baby blanket.

The kit contains a thermometer to keep a check on the temperature, like in the case of Diarrhoea, among women and children.

The Self-Care Kit also has a pulse oximeter to monitor and measure oxygen in a child's blood.
