Swachh Bharat, Change From Yeh Mera Kaam Nahi Hain To Yeh Mera Kaam Hain, Says Amitabh Bachchan

At the launch of season 5 of NDTV-Dettol Banega Swachh India, Campaign Ambassador Amitabh Bachchan urged people to fight against poor hygiene, sanitation and air pollution. He said, our main aim is to make India free from the practice of open defecation by October 2019. From being vocal about swachhta to inculcating civic sense among people, here are the top five influential quotes from what Mr Bachchan, said during the launch of the new season of this five year campaign.

"Whatever children learn at young age, they will follow that for their entire life and would motivate others to adopt safe sanitation practices."
"We have an environment in India where people are competing with each other to keep their surroundings clean. This is what will help India become a clean country."
"I have observed that our grocery during outdoor shoots comes in biodegradable bags, and not in plastic. This is a good sign that each individual is taking responsibility to keep India clean."
"Instead of getting a cake for friend's birthday, we should gift a plant and even name it. Children should name a tree that they plant and make it interactive like they should ask, 'Hey Ganesh (referring to tree), how are you?'"
"Ye mera kaam nahi hai, people say this when it comes to keeping surroundings clean. We need to change this attitude. People should say Yeh kaam mera hai. I request each and every citizen of this country to just get up every morning and do little bit for making India clean. It is just like brushing your teeth."
