COVID-19 Update: Count Of Active COVID-19 Cases In Country Is 1,468

New Delhi: India has recorded a single-day rise of 26 new COVID-19 infections and the count of active cases of the disease now stands at 1,468, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday (July 4). The death toll due to the disease is at 5,31,908 and the infection tally is 4.49 crore (4,49,94,351), the data updated at 8 am showed. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.81 per cent, according to the ministry’s website.

According to the data, the number of people who have recuperated from the disease has surged to 4,44,60,975, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent. As per the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of vaccines have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive.

In the meanwhile, Mumbai reports single new COVID-19 case and zero death and accordingly active tally at 29. So, taking the overall tally to 11,63,961, while no fresh death linked to the infection was registered in the metropolis, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said. The death toll remained unchanged at 19,773.

A BMC bulletin said 190 coronavirus tests were conducted in the city in the last 24 hours, taking their cumulative count to 1,89,00,264. The bulletin said the number of recovered cases increased to 11,44,159 after one more patient recuperated from the respiratory illness, leaving the financial capital with 29 active cases.

The coronavirus recovery rate in Mumbai stood at 98.3 per cent, while the growth rate of cases between June 26 and July 2 was 0.0003 per cent, it said. Mumbai’s COVID-19 doubling rate was 2,29,103, as per the bulletin.
