India Logs 9,355 Fresh COVID Infections, 26 New Fatalities Reported

New Delhi: India has logged 9,355 fresh coronavirus infections, while the active cases have decreased to 57,410, according to Union health ministry data updated on Thursday (April 27). The death toll has increased to 5,31,424 with 26 deaths, which includes six fatalities reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated. The daily positivity rate has been recorded at 4.08 per cent and the weekly positivity rate is 5.36 per cent. The total tally of Covid cases stands at 4.49 crore.

The active cases now comprise 0.13 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid recovery rate has been recorded at 98.69 per cent, according to the ministry’s website. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has increased to 4,43,35,977. The case fatality rate has been recorded at 1.18 per cent. According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

DELHI

Delhi reported 1,040 fresh COVID-19 cases and seven fatalities in the last 24 hours, the highest so far this year, with a positivity of 21.16 per cent, according to data shared by the city government’s Health department. The addition of the fresh cases takes the national capital’s overall infection tally to 20,36,196 while the death toll has risen to 26,613.

MAHARASHTRA

Maharashtra recorded 784 new coronavirus infections and one fatality in the last 24 hours, the state health department said. The state’s COVID-19 case tally rose to 81,63,626, and death toll to 1,48,508. Among the cities, Mumbai reported 185 new coronavirus infections and zero pandemic-related deaths.

RAJASTHAN

Rajasthan recorded three more deaths linked to COVID-19 and reported 498 fresh caseload additions in the last 24 hours, according to the state Health department. One death was recorded each in Barmer, Bharatpur and Dausa. Jaipur has recorded the highest number of fresh infections with 110, followed by 46 in Udaipur, 41 in Ajmer, 38 in Chittorgarh, 37 in Bharatpur, 35 in Jodhpur and 26 in Bikaner.
