Swachh Survekshan 2018: Congratulations Indore, You Did It Again! Here’s How Twitter Is Congratulating The Cleanest City Of India

New Delhi: The Swachh Survekshan 2018 results were released today by Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, and like last time, Madhya Pradesh’s Indore has retained its cleanest city of India title. Bhopal has been ranked second cleanest city of India, followed by Chandigarh which was ranked 11 in 2017. The rankings, which assessed 4,203 cities and towns of India, were decided after direct observation from the swachh officials, third party assessment and feedback from 38 lakh citizens. The survey, which is being cited as the world’s largest cleanliness survey by the government, was the third such survey done by the centre to evaluate the progress cities have made in achieving the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan goals. For the first time, the survey covered all cities of India and impacted more than 40 crore urban population.

Here’s how Twitter is celebrating the Swachh report card:

Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu congratulated Indore, Bhopal and Chandigarh for being top three cities in cleanliness survey. He said,

“Congratulations also to Jharkhand, Maharashtra & Chhattisgarh for emerging as top three States in Swachh Survekshan results. Keep it up ! #SwachhSurvekshan2018”

Chief Minister Of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated people of Indore on his social media. He said,

It is the moment of pride and happiness as in #SwachhSurvekshan2018 results, our Indore and Bhopal have achieved the first and second place, all over again, keeping the superiority. I congratulate the determination of the citizens of these metros.

Mayor of Indore, Malini Gaur added,

To all the people of Indore, congratulations! Indore is No 1 in Swachh Survekshan 2018.

Congratulating Indore and Bhopal for a repeat performance of being No 1 and No 2, Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said,

Looking at the way citizens of big winning cities had turned Swachhata into a Jan Andolan, I am not surprised at the results. Congratulations #Indore & #Bhopal for a repeat performance at #1&2. Well done #Chandigarh for coming in 3rd. Others will surely try & catch up next year.

Applauding Chhattisgarh’s Ambikapur, which is India’s Best City in Innovation and Best Practices, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh added,

“Congratulations citizens of Ambikapur! This is a stupendous achievement and the result of your perseverance. Whole Chhattisgarh is proud of you!”

Appreciating the performance of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his happiness over the performance of Vijayawada in Swachh Survekshan 2018, he said,

Proud to inform that Vijayawada is declared as the cleanest big city in the country (with a population of over 10 lakh people) in #SwachhSurvekshan2018 awards.

Chief Minister Of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis said,

“Great news for Maharashtra again! Maharashtra bags 10 awards in #SwachhSurvekshan2018 !  Total 4203 ULBs across the Nation got assessed and we bagged maximum awards! Congratulations Maharashtra! Maharashtra is also ranked 2nd in the country as best performing State!”
