"The problem of air pollution starts affecting children right from when they are in the womb of the mother," said Pediatrician Dr Pramod Jog while participating in a session at NDTV's Banega Swasth India 12-Hour Swasthagraha campaign today. "The lung of children is (in) developing (stage). The respiratory rate of children is higher than adults, so, they breathe more often, so, they get more pollutants inside ... and they play more outdoor," Dr Jog, who is also a member of National Air Pollution Board, said while responding to a question on why children are more prone to air pollution related ailments.
