Amitabh Bachchan On His Granddaughter Building Homes For Menstruating Women In Villages

"My granddaughter is in her 20s and she has started her own organisation where she discovered that in the villages of India, women on their periods are ostracised - thrown out of their houses. She and her organisation are now building special homes in the villages - nice, comfortable homes - for these women to stay when they are on their periods. They have already constructed ten such homes," says Amitabh Bachchan at the Swasth India telethon. "At such a young age, young girls are thinking in this direction and that's a wonderful thought," he added.
