In normal times, India's million-plus army of Accredited Social Health Activists or 'ASHA' didi's and healthcare workers lead the country's war against undernutrition. Today, these women have joined another battle - the battle against COVID-19. Besides ensuring maternal care, helping with institutional deliveries, they are also spreading awareness among pregnant and lactating mothers regarding the use of masks, social distancing and maintaining hygiene.
