According to the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the world has been getting hotter and if the current levels of carbon emission continue to increase and double by 2050, global warming may rise by up to 5.7 degrees Celsius by 2100 resulting in catastrophic climate events including sea levels will rise, floods, drought, cyclones, threatening the lives, livelihood, food security and access to the drinking water of people.
