In Chennai, Air Pollution 6 Times Less Than Last Diwali

While many parts of the country choke due to air pollution on Diwali, people in Chennai are breathing easy. The Pollution Control Board says the PM10 levels have come down six times compared to last Diwali, except in the Sowcarpet area. The ambient air quality monitoring agency attributes this to increased cooperation by people in Chennai. We caught up with a group who had used community fireworks to bring down air and noise pollution levels.
