NITI Aayog Chairman Amitabh Kant says there is a strict need to recycle plastic, and then some more. On Banega Swasth India 12-hour Swasthagraha, a campaign for a healthy India with Amitabh Bachchan, he says, "I interacted with entrepreneurs of companies making items using plastic. Some are even making tiles and brick from plastic that has been approved by the Army itself for its strength. A startup in Pune generates fuel oil from plastic. Another one uses discarded plastic flex and creates schools to donate to kind. A company is making fibers from plastic that can be used in low-cost housing. Four thousand products are being made in India that were made from plastic waste. We need to recycle plastic again and again. We need to use bio-degradable plastic and I think more research needs to be done on this."
