With over 40 different kinds of crackers used every year during Dussehra and Diwali, firecrackers pose a huge health hazard especially to children and people bursting them. From increasing air pollution, promoting child labour, inducing fire accidents to causing health problems like shortness of breath, eyes burning and respiratory problems, bursting firecrackers prove to be harmful in more ways than one. In order to avoid these problems, the Supreme Court in its recent verdict on firecracker ban has allowed only eco-friendly crackers with less emissions.
