New Delhi: Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan urged everyone to come forward and do their bit to keep their area clean, as everyone’s efforts together will help India fulfill its dream of Swachh Bharat. She conveyed her support to the swachh cause through a special video message. The actor said, “To fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of Clean India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started Swachh Bharat Abhiyan three years ago. Now, when the mission has been transformed into a jan andolan (a people’s movement), PM Modi has initiated another cleanliness campaign Swachhata Hi Seva so that Swachh India movement can get support from across the country. To make this a success, I urge everyone to keep their surroundings clean just as we keep our homes swachh all the time.”

The actor further added, if you will keep your surroundings clean, your block clean or your village clean, we all can soon make our dream of ‘Clean India’ a reality.

Swachhata Hi Seva campaign was initiated by Prime Minister Modi last month during his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat and was launched on September 25 by President Ram Nath Kovind. The 15-day special cleanliness drive will culminate on October 2, in the first four days of the campaign, more than 75 lakh people joined swachh activities with more than 40 thousand initiatives. The campaign has also got a big support from Bollywood and Sports fraternity with Anushka Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar coming out to do their bit for a Swachh India. Supporting the swachh cause are personalities like Rajinikanth, Anil Kappor, Riteish Deshmukh and Baahubali actor Prabhas.
