Dettol Banega Swasth India At Jaipur Literature Fest: Championing Health & Hygiene

Dettol Banega Swasth India reached the Jaipur Literature Festival to explore the vital role of hygiene in building a healthy and sustainable India. Experts discuss the intersection of hygiene, health, and India's vision for a developed nation by 2047, highlighting how creative communication can drive positive change for communities everywhere

At the Jaipur Literature Festival, Dettol Banega Swasth India emphasised the importance of hygiene for healthy communities. A panel of experts discussed innovative tools, such as comic books and technology, that make health and hygiene education available to everyone.

The panel included Ravi Bhatnagar, Director of External Affairs and Partnerships SOA, Reckitt, Sonali Khan, Managing Director, Sesame Workshop India, Dr. Indira Chakravarty, public health specialist, and Dr. Jay Lemery, a professor of emergency medicine. The session will be moderated by NDTV's Ambika Singh Kahma.

"We have been supporting Jaipur Literature Festival for the past ten years. Sustainability and hygiene was seen as a distant dream, but for the past 10 years, there has been a significant change," said Ravi Bhatnagar, Director of External Affairs and Partnerships SOA, Reckitt. Sonali Khan, Managing Director, Sesame Workshop India, discussed how does innovative storytelling inspire public health and sustainability, during the session. A special part of the session will be the launch of four new comic books created by Sesame Workshop India in partnership with DBSI.

Dr. Indira Chakravarty, public health specialist, discussed the multifaceted nature of hygiene, encompassing personal, domestic, and environmental aspects. She stressed that revolutionising hygiene habits in India begins with individual action, highlighting handwashing as a crucial first step. According to her, focusing on personal hygiene, particularly handwashing, can serve as a foundation for broader improvements in overall hygiene practices across the nation.

The panel explored how innovative approaches, like comic books and technology, can make hygiene and health education accessible to everyone. They emphasized the power of communication in raising awareness, building resilience, and creating a healthier future for all communities.
