India Dedicates Ek Tareek, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath For Nationwide Cleanliness Drive

Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the 'Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath' campaign under the ongoing 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign as Swachhanjali to Mahatma Gandhi on his 154th birth anniversary. The PM appealed for one hour of voluntary participation from citizens from 10 a.m. onwards on October 1. Here's how the cleanliness drive was marked across India

BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi visited Ambedkar Basti, in Shahdara in the national capital, and participated in the cleanliness drive.

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar arrived at Safdarjung Railway station to contribute to the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign. He mentioned how people of India have come together and rallied behind PM Modi's vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas'

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, attended 'Swachhata Abhiyan' programme at Sewri, Mumbai. State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde participated in the cleanliness organised by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) at Girgaon Chowpatty, Mumbai and interacted with children in the area.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was seen cleaning the society area in Ahmedabad, loaded with bags of plastic and other solid waste material.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant facilitated the municipal party workers in Sanquelim. Meanwhile, in Bihar, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad participated in the cleanliness drive organised under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign in Patna.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary participated in the cleanliness drive organised at Harijan Primary School, Alam Nagar, Lucknow.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the 'Shramdaan for cleanliness' programme in Ahmedabad. Talking about the initiative, the Union Minister said, "Prime Minister Modi ji is doing a great job of converting all the countrymen with Gandhiji's ideas of cleanliness and converting 'cleanliness' into their lifestyle and values."

The Ministry of Railways initiated a new scheme '14 minute miracle' under 'Swachhata Hi Seva' programme, under which Vande Veers took on the challenge to clean Vande Bharat Express trains of different routes.

Minister for Railways, Communication, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw, led the cleanliness drive at Gurgaon Railway Station.

Sand artist, Sudarshan Pattnaik created sand art at the Puri beach, spreading the message of 'Swachhata Hi Seva' depicting Prime Minister Modi.

The Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare participated in the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign, by cleaning the glass windows of the Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) building.

Member Customs and Special Secretary Surjit Bhujabal and officers participated in the cleanliness drive organised by Tuticorin Customs House on the coastline across various beaches. This way they participated in the drive while safeguarding marine life and coastal ecology.
