India Logs 43 COVID-19 Infections In A Day

New Delhi: India recorded new 43 COVID-19 infections in a day while the tally of active cases has increased to 1,441 from 1,432 a day ago, according to Health Ministry data updated on Monday (July 17). The death toll has been recorded at 5,31,915, the data updated at 8 am stated. The tally of Covid cases has been logged at 4.49 crore. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.81 per cent, according to the health ministry website.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,44,61,565 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent. According to the ministry’s website, 220.67 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive.

In the meanwhile, Mumbai, on Sunday (July 16) reported two COVID-19 case and zero fatality, which took the tally to 11,63,995 and kept the toll unchanged at 19,775, a civic official said. The city had seen zero death, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official pointed out. The recovery count increased by three in the last 24 hours to touch 11,44,207, leaving the city with an active caseload of 23, he said.

As per BMC data, the recovery rate is 98.3 per cent and the overall growth rate of cases between July 7 and 13 is 0.0003 per cent. The caseload doubling time stands at 2,39,072 days. So far, 1,89,07,298 coronavirus tests have been conducted in Mumbai.
