Sudarsan Pattnaik’s Sand Art On National Youth Day Inspires Youth To Aim For Green Environment

New Delhi: To mark the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s 156th birth anniversary on January 12, celebrated as National Youth Day, Padma Award-winning sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a captivating sand sculpture at Puri Beach in Odisha. Mr. Pattnaik, through his art, displayed a message, “Youth Call For Green Environment”, to inspire the youth of India to follow the thoughts and teachings of one of India’s greatest philosophers and to contribute towards a greener environment.

Mr. Pattnaik created a colourful sand sculpture which has Swami Vivekananda surrounded by trees. Mr. Pattnaik, who is known for making sculptures on various themes with inspiring messages pegged to occasions , tweeted an image of the sculpture and said,

The occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary is celebrated as Yuva Diwas in India. He shall continue to inspire our youths for aeons to come. My Sand Art is with message “Youth call for Green #Environment” at Puri beach in Odisha.

Earlier, the renowned artist welcomed 2019 with a beautiful sand sculpture with on spreading the message of planting more trees to fight pollution and save the environment. Talking about the theme of his New Year special sand art installation, Mr. Pattnaik said,

We have created a special sand sculpture to wish everyone a happy new year. We want to give a green message to everyone and hence have given green effects in the sculpture. We appeal everyone to plant a maximum number of trees to save the environment.
