Fishing, crab collection, and honey collection are some of the primary occupations of the people of Sundarbans in West Bengal. But this livelihood exposes the local villagers to conflicts with tigers, crocodiles, and sharks. The reduction in catch has further pushed people to venture into the restricted areas of Sundarbans where the threat is higher, leading to a higher number of man-animal conflicts.
