Of late, Sundarbans is seeing a rise in the frequency of cyclones. These cyclones might not be intense but they are frequent and strong enough to disrupt lives and livelihoods. Since 2007, 12 cyclones have hit the Sundarbans region. Some of the major cyclones have been Aila in 2009 and Amphan in 2020.
