Travelling 20KM By Boat Daily, This ASHA Worker Links Her Hamlet In MP To Healthcare Services

ASHA Worker Ranjana Dwivedi from Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh is the lone representative from India to be featured by the US' National Public Radio (NPR) in its documentary of 19 women from across the globe who shared their challenges and how they are overcoming them in the COVID pandemic. Ranjana is the only ASHA worker for Gurguda hamlet, 20km off her village, Kauni Rukauli in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. For the last decade, she has been travelling 20 km daily from her home to Gurguda, which includes crossing the mighty Tamas river in a boat, a practice she continued even during the pandemic.
