This portable toilet van is fully equipped with basic amenities like a water tank with a capacity of 1500 liters, a flush, and wash-basin. What’s great is that the toilet provides bio-solutions for human waste, meaning it can treat the human waste in an eco-friendly way.
The launch of the toilet comes well on time, the city is as it is preparing for Swachh Survekshan 2018 and is leaving no stones unturned to improve its rankings this time. Last year, Mumbai’s swachh rank had dropped to 29th from the 10th place in 2016. The main reason for Mumbai’s below par performance was citizen feedback and that’s why this year Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation is intensifying its efforts to improve its rank. Recently, BMC also roped in actor Akshay Kumar, who will help promote the cleanliness campaign in the city through public service announcements (PSA) in the form of videos, radio jingles and so on.
