New Delhi: India witnessed a single-day rise of 47 new COVID-19 cases in the last 2 hours, while the active caseload has been recorded at 1,655, according to Union Health Ministry data. The death toll was recorded at 5,31,903 (5.31 lakh), the data updated at 8 am on Monday showed. The total tally of Covid cases was recorded at 4.49 crore.
The national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.81 per cent, according to the union health ministry.
The number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 4,44,60,441 (4.44 crore) while the case fatality rate is at 1.18 per cent. According to the health ministry , 220.66 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide drive.

On Sunday, the country recorded 80 new coronavirus infections, while the active cases climbed to 1,670 from 1,653. The death toll was recorded at 5,31,903 and the Covid case tally was recorded at 4.49 crore. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.81 per cent, according to the health ministry website.
On Saturday, the new COVID-19 infection tally was 55 in the last 24 hours, while active cases declined to 1,653 from 1,712 a day earlier, according to the Union Health Ministry. The death toll was recorded at 5,31,903 with one fatality reported in Maharashtra.
MAHARASHTRA
Maharashtra on Friday recorded 15 new coronavirus cases and one death, according to the state health department. The state’s caseload rose to 81,69,736, and death toll on account of the pandemic to 1,48,554. The state had recorded eight cases and zero fatalities the previous day.
Among the cities, Mumbai recorded two cases. The sole COVID-19 fatality in the state was recorded in Kalyan-Dombivli area in neighbouring Thane district.
MUMBAI
The city witnessed two new cases of fresh coronavirus cases, taking the tally of infections to 11,63,925, according to an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The toll remained unchanged at 19,773 and the count of recoveries reached 11,44,127 after six patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, the official said.
As per a bulletin issued by the civic body, 463 swab samples were tested during the day, raising the total number of tests conducted in the city so far to 1,88,93,040, the official said.
