Many heads turned, some complimented her bold choice, some not so much, all in all twitter was busy reacting and making her trend for the long trench coat look that the 34-year old Quantico star, Priyanka Chopra adorned for the Met Gala red carpet on Monday night. But never underestimate the ingenious Twitter humour, which was soon in action, busy linking up the iconic Ralph Lauren creation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Fun on twitter aside, Priyanka Chopra does have a connect with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. She was one of the original Swachh Bharat Ambassadors to be nominated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to spread the message of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Accepting the nomination, the actor took it upon herself to clean up a garbage-laden neighbourhood in Mumbai. Talking about her clean-up drive during the first NDTV-Dettol Banega Swachh India Cleanathon, she said that change in mindset, is the need of the hour for a clean and green India.
On the work front, the actor will soon be making her Hollywood debut with Seth Gordon’s Baywatch reboot, in which she will play the villain opposite Dwayne Johnson. The movie is set to release in June this year. As for the popular TV series Quantico, the third season is expected to go on-air soon.
