Sharing the 51-second-long video on their social media, Virat Kohli wrote, “These are testing times and we need to wake up to the seriousness of this situation. Please let us all follow what’s been told to us and stand united, please. It’s a plea to everyone.”
In the video, the couple took turns to urge their fans in observing the lockdown and focused on the do’s and don’ts during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Together they stressed on the need to show courage, patience and responsibility for the next 21 days and to win the battle against coronavirus.
Highlighting what needs to be done during the lockdown and to contain the spread of coronavirus, the power couple said,
Stay at home. Save yourself and your family from coronavirus. Don’t violate the curfew. We will not be able to win the war from coronavirus by stepping out of the house, taking out rallies and creating noise. Because of your negligence, the entire country will have to pay a big price.
The duo ended the message saying,
Let’s show unity; let’s save our life and the country.

India’s Fight Against Coronavirus
As of March 25 (6:45 PM), 606 cases of coronavirus have been reported in India. While 43 individuals infected with the virus have recovered, 10 casualties have been noted. To contain the spread of the novel coronavirus in India and ensure every citizen follows social distancing, PM Modi has announced a nationwide lockdown for 21 days. He had said,
From 12 midnight, the entire country will go under complete lockdown. The lockdown will be for 21 days — three weeks. This lockdown is in a way a curfew and would be more stringent than the Janata curfew. To break the chain of spread, 21 days of lockdown is absolutely necessary. If we don’t manage these 21 days, the country will be set back by 21 years. Some families will be destroyed forever.
During the lockdown, the supply of all essential services like groceries, medicines, and others will remain functional.
