- As of now, Gurugram has 118 public toilets and 13 community toilets
- People will be able to file complaint using Swachh Bharat Toilet Locator
New Delhi: Pepping up their game in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and following the orders of Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) will soon put out all the information related to public toilets, community toilets, mobile van toilets and portable toilets on google toilet locator. This will not only make locating a toilet easy, but it will also make it convenient to file a complaint.
The putting up of information on google toilet locator is divided into two phases. In phase 1, information related to toilets available under MCG will be made accessible to public. As of now, Gurugram has 131 toilets out of which 118 are public toilets and 13 community toilets. Apart from this, Gurugram also has mobile van toilets and portable toilets in all the four zones. In total, there are 47 mobile van toilets and 105 portable toilets.
In phase 2, MCG will geo-tag toilets accessible in restaurants, hotels, petrol pump, and other such places. The work for phase 2 has begun and is under process.
We are doing a survey on how many toilets are there in restaurants, hospitals, hotels, government buildings, petrol pump and other such places and how many are available for uninterrupted public use. All the restaurants and hotels don’t allow general public to access washrooms. We will put up the information of the one available for public, says Saurabh Nain, Executive Engineer Sanitation, MCG.
Additionally, MCG is working on making it easy to lodge a complaint related to a toilet. All the toilets will have the information of the toilet operator, concerned MCG authority and MCG’s toll-free number.
MoUD has asked us to make all the contact information available. In addition to that, we will make toll-free number available because what if MCG’s person does not answer a call or the toilet operator is not around and is not answering the call. Toll-free number is 24*7”, says Mr. Saurabh.
If someone doesn’t want to call the authority then they can register a complaint on government’s Swachh Bharat Toilet Locator mobile application or google toilet locator.
