PM Modi Urges Parliamentarians To Keep Politics Out Of ‘Swachhta’

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke in Parliament today and drew attention to the politicisation of the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ initiative.

Gandhi ji used to speak of Swachhta (cleanliness). We have taken that up, and requested you all to help us swachhta. Do we want to reduce swachhta to benefit politically? Let us not do this, said PM Modi

He urged all the political parties to remain apolitical and work in unison towards making India a clean nation.

Requesting the politicians to give personal attention towards ‘Swachhta’, he added, “I ask each one of you, would you like your neighbourhood to be dirty or clean? So please, let us not politicise it, but work on it sincerely.”
