New Delhi: Several Bollywood celebrities took to social media to celebrate the World Environment Day which is observed on June 5 every year. From Shraddha Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana and Tamannaah Bhatia to Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Ajay Devgn, everyone shared special posts about the power of mother nature and urged their fans and followers to work towards preserving the environment and adopt sustainable living. As Twitter and Instagram flooded with messages on taking actions to protect the nature, celebrities reminded people that the day dedicated to the environment is very important now more than ever as the lockdown imposed to contain the spread of Coronavirus is easing gradually, people will soon be back on the road and so the environmental gains made during the lockdown needs to be maintained.

Actor Shraddha Kapoor shared that she has incorporated eco-friendly alternatives of daily-use items like water bottles and toothbrushes in order to live in a sustainable way. She urged her followers to recycle, reduce and reuse.

Ayushmann Khurrana urged people to use water consciously. He said that water is an extremely vital resource and everyone should do their bit in saving water at all times.

Tamannaah Bhatia shared a quote by the Russian author Leo Tolstoy to inspire her followers to be connected with nature. She wrote,

Senior actor Anupam Kher said in a tweet that the current pandemic has an important lesson for the people and that is to respect the environment. He said,

Actor Sanjay Dutt used the day to highlight the need for humanity to make a change in the lifestyle to fix the environment.
The tough time that we’re facing today is a message from nature to bring a change in our lifestyle. There’s enough damage that we have done already but small steps from every individual can still save our environment. #WorldEnvironmentDay, he wrote in his Instagram post.
