Amitabh Bachchan Dedicates A Heartfelt Note To Healthcare Workers, Calls Them ‘God’s Own Angels’

New Delhi: Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan, who continues to fight COVID-19 at the Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital in Mumbai along with his son Abhishek Bachchan, posted a heartfelt appreciation note for the doctors and the hospital staff on his Twitter account on Wednesday. In this post, Mr. Bachchan described healthcare workers as “God’s own angels in white PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) units” and shared the prayers that the hospital staff and the doctors recite to seek the better health of their patients.

The 77-year-old actor, who tested positive for the coronavirus three weeks ago, wrote on Twitter,

They work in extreme conditions, so our conditions are safe .. the Gods own angels in white PPE units, Doctors, nurses, support staff .. yet they still take time out to pray for who they struggle to cure – their patients! This be their prayer everyday.

Since being admitted in hospital on July 11 after testing positive for coronavirus, Mr. Bachchan has remained active in raising awareness about the COVID-19 and the efforts undertaken by those who are braving the pandemic on the frontline. Earlier this month, he wrote another post thanking the healthcare workers and said that they are God-like who fly the flags of humanity. The message posted by the legendary actor read,

Pristine white their layered dress, dedicated to serve they be, god like incarnations they, companions of the sufferer they, erased they their ego have, to us they have embraced in care, they be the divine destination, they fly the flags of humanity.

Immediately after the actor’s diagnosis, his social media handles were flooded with messages and wishes for his speedy recovery. Big B frequently write to his followers from the Hospital’s COVID ward to thank for their love and wishes. In one of his posts he wrote,

The hands that you raise in love and support are my strength .. this I shall never ever allow to vanish from my system .. so help me God !

He also tweeted that individually thanking everyone was not possible but he was touched by the outpouring of love.

A doctor at Nanavati hospital had earlier informed that Mr. Bachchan is clinically stable and does not require aggressive treatment. However, some of his fans in Kolkata are conducting a prayer ceremony called “mahamritunjay yagna” for his good health and they plan to continue the ‘yagna’ till he is completely recovered from the disease.
