New Delhi: ‘Join the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan summer internship and do your bit for India,’ with this as their message – badminton champions Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu And Pullela Gopichand are urging students across India to take part in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2018. Through a video messages, which has been released by the centre recently, badminton player Saina Nehwal said, “If you are a college student or a member of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) then join the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship and do your bit to spread the message of cleanliness in the rural parts of our country.”
While PV Sindhu added,
Contribute at least 100 hours for clean India mission this summer and lead the movement of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Indian Badminton Coach Pullela Gopichand said,
This is your chance to make a real difference. Join the swachh bharat summer internship and do your bit for the country.

About Swachh Sumer Internship 2018
The swachh summer internship was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 29, 2018, during the 43rd edition of his monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat.
Under this programme, students from Higher Education Institutions and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) need to enroll for 100 hours of sanitation-related work IN villages/rural areas in their state of residence or state of the parent institution.
The last day to enroll for this programme has been set by the centre as June 15, 2018.
On successfully completing the internship, all participants will be given a Swachh Bharat Internship Certificate. The interns will also get incentives including credit points by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
And the best 3 interns/ teams will be recognised at college, university, state and national levels with the following awards:
a. University Level: Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000 along with appropriate certificates
b. State Level: Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 along with appropriate certificates
c. National Level: Rs 2 lakh, 1 lakh, Rs 50,000 along with appropriate certificates
