New Delhi: India recorded 80 fresh COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, while the number of active cases decreased further to 2,248, according to Union health ministry data. With the fresh infections, the country’s caseload climbed to 4.49 crore. The death toll remained unchanged at 5,31,892, the data updated at 8 am stated.

The national recovery rate stands at 98.81 per cent, according to the union health ministry. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,44,58,820. The case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent.

According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

Mumbai reported four new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, which took the tally of infections to 11,63,877, an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said. The toll remained unchanged at 19,773, while the count of recoveries reached 11,44,052 after three patients recovered in the last 24 hours, the official said.

The city had on Sunday reported seven new cases.

As per the civic body’s bulletin, 542 swab samples were tested during the day, taking the total number of the tests conducted so far to 1,88,84,770.

The city currently has 52 active cases, it stated. The recovery rate in the city is 98.3 per cent, while the overall growth rate for the period June 5 to June 11 was 0.0005 per cent, the bulletin stated.

Banega Swasth India will also be taking forward the dream of Swasth Bharat, the campaign feels that only a Swachh or clean India wheretoiletsare used andopen defecation free (ODF)status achieved as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched byPrime Minister Narendra Modiin 2014, can eradicate diseases like diahorrea and the country can become a Swasth or healthy India.
