Week That Was: World Ocean Day Highlights Plastic Waste Threats And India Kicks Off Waste Management Campaign On World Environment Day
In an ambitious move to make India free from its waste woes, the government launched a massive waste management campaign in 4000 cities across the country on June 5, the World Environment Day. The main motive behind this massive campaign by the government is to implement the practice of waste segregation at source across cities. And on June 8, the World celebrated Oceans Day to highlight the challenge faced by oceans due to indiscriminate dumping of waste, especially plastic waste.
